In House Coordinator – Live in

The organisation

Fantastic job opportunity to work for this charitable community for adults with learning disabilities. The location is 17 miles to Brighton / 35 miles to London / 25 minutes away from Gatwick.

We are looking for appropriately qualified applicants who embrace the Rudolf Steiner approach, are willing to stimulate an active family life for the residents in a park-like environment.

The organisation is sustained by a belief in the value of friendly social interaction and space for individuality. The intention is to provide an environment which promotes healing, and development through positive social activity and engagement such as music-making in its many forms and eurythmy, a gentle art of movement, amongst others.

Residents are offered a wide range of practical, educational and creative activities, accessed both on-site and within the locality. Acquiring skills and putting them to use in the creation of useful and beautiful objects is a valuable stimulus to gaining self-esteem and a sense of achievement. Working with natural materials in activities such as weaving, woodwork, basket-making and candle-making successfully combines both a therapeutic and a productive purpose. Their busy bakery serves not only of the community but of local people as well.

Live-in: £15,775 - £17,500 per annum, depending on house occupancy and qualification. Housing and full board is provided throughout worth £ 10.000 plus. Free car usage is provided subject to availability. (VR01156)

Requirements

Driving licence essential. Love of the outdoors, the countryside, animals and music-making. English must be excellent. Flexibility in approach important. Ideally you will have a social care qualification, and at a minimum internships, placements or work experience with a vulnerable client group e.g. adults with learning disabilities, older people or children and ideally “hands on” experience in a Rudolf Steiner setting. You must be comfortable with personal care with residents, so washing and personal hygiene, feeding, cleaning, cooking etc.
