Duty/Assessment - The job is to assess children who are at risk of harm or being neglected.
You will be undertaking individual assessments of need, initial assessments and recommend and develop appropriate targeted interventions that meet the needs of children, young people and their families.
Looked After Children - The job is to assess the quality of care, gain feedback from the child in care, respond to feedback appropriately, create care plans, work with parents and arrange rehabilitation where possible, collaborate with health and education agencies and give support to carers such as foster parents.

Job Profile:
Tasks include amongst others waking the children/adults, preparing breakfast/lunch and supper, household chores, assisting in class, organizing and executing leisure time activities like festivals. You would be living in the community alongside the service users offering an ongoing support. Your room could very likely be next door to the children or adults. It would be your responsibility to listen for them in the night.
All the cooking, cleaning and household tasks of the House are shared by everyone. The children are in a learning situation and according to their abilities depend upon your active example. A timetable, or rota, is drawn up by the house community to cover all these needs.

Description:
This is a secure unit offering care, guidance, control and support to young female residents (aged 10 – 17, majority are 14 or 15). Girls and young women, often with very low self-esteem, present with challenging behaviour and often tendencies to seriously self-harm. Most have been neglected and/or physically, sexually and/or emotionally abused.
You will be expected to contribute to a warm, accepting and stimulating environment and work towards the total care of each individual, to ensure the emotional, social, health, educational and physical needs are met. You be able to physically intervene if necessary with aggressive clients (full training given). You will manage challenging behaviours safely in a way that protects and maintains the rights of the clients.
You will assess need, plan and implement individual programmes of work which contribute to care plans. You will work efficiently and reliably with those who have parental responsibility and other agencies
including: parents, Education, Police, Courts and Health.
Experience in a similar environment or prison would be an advantage, but is not neccessary. Shift work required.
